VIRTUAL ROCK CAMP OPPORTUNITIES
Make a difference in the music community and lives of youth this summer - no matter where you are now!
Virtual Rock Camp offers a unique opportunity to be a part of BGRC, even if you no longer live in the Bellingham area.
You are still always and forever a part of the BGRC family!
VIRTUAL ROCK CAMP ROLES:
Reconnect with Campers as a mentor via video chat once a week during camp! Mentors build relationships with campers, serving as caring adults they can talk with about their experiences, music, and social justice. Camp Counselors answer questions about camp, help campers work through conflicts, and facilitate conversations about anti-racism.
Support camper bands to write lyrics, come up with a name for their record label, and workshop songs. Campers will be assigned a band with 3-4 total members and one band coach. Younger campers will focus on group lyric writing and individual songwriting. Older camper bands can work together to write a song and create a DIY recording!
Teach one-on-one and group lessons to campers of various ages and skill levels via video chat. Instructors will teach approx. three to five 20-min individual lessons each week, and one group lesson each week. Recommended previous experience teaching lessons virtually.
Lead a workshop or demo using Instagram Live. Have a skill you want to share, like tuning a guitar or warming up your voice? Knowledgeable and passionate about a topic you'd like to discuss related to music or anti-racism? Take-over the Virtual Rock Camp private Instagram to lead a session via IG Live.
Perform via Instagram Live for our campers! Give campers an at-home virtual concert experience. Sets are 15-30 min with time for a brief Q&A. Take-over the Virtual Rock Camp private Instagram to perform via IG Live. All musical genres welcome to perform!
