spring rock retreat! April 8-11

What is Spring Rock Retreat?

Similarly to last year's Winter Retreat, we will be offering an open space for participants to be creative and share their ideas. This retreat will offer virtual workshops including some of our favorites such as Gender Identity and Persona, along with our brand new worksop: Self Defense!

Participants will get a chance to work on their own creative projects, whether it's a song, visual art, dance, or any other ideas you have. We will be providing zines for each workshop, a craft kit for activities, and instruments if needed for everyone to borrow.

We are so excited to gather with you all again and have a great rocking out together!

BGRC is committed to equity and access and will do our best to support individual technology needs. Let us know if you do not have access to a computer, tablet, or phone -- we will have something you can borrow!

We offer a sliding-scale tuition rate to ensure ALL rockstars can attend camp. The suggested cost to attend camp is $1.

We offer Full and Partial Financial Aid to keep camp open to everyone; inclusion and accessibility are so important to our camp culture. Please consider donating to our Rock Star program!

We are proud to partner with Guitar Gabby & The TxLips! "TxLips Band, LLC. is a dynamic group of women whose mission is to challenge the boundaries set for women in the music industry as well as to inspire girls and women worldwide to be an unstoppable force in the music industry. This international touring collective has contributed to pushing the status quo of what the world says women can do. They continue to pursue their callings and are determined to motivate people everywhere by being themselves."

If you would like to use an instrument during these workshops, pick one! Keep in mind that you don't NEED an instrument for these workshops; you can use software instruments, loops, your voice, and plenty of other tools we will be teaching you about. This is just an option!

Although there are no instrument lessons during these workshops, we will have plenty of volunteers to help you write your songs.

At the end of the retreat, participants present their projects at the Virtual Open Mic for friends, families, and fans. The Open Mic will be April 11th via Zoom.
